Hello, I am Jordan Hayter, a 21-year-old university student, who has been surrounded by the world of theatre since I was 3, from ballet classes to amateur theatre productions and now theatre-based journalism. Theatre has been a driving force for my lifestyle, taking up most of my free time, especially during my times in sixth form. Whilst pursuing 4 A-levels (Performing Arts, English Language, English Literature and Photography), I was also performing in 4 to 5 shows a year, as well as assisting backstage and taking up leadership roles such as assistant director, social media advisor and photographer.

Specifically, in my final year of sixth form, I decided to use this love of theatre and lack of spare time to produce a backstage look at the production of a show for my Photography coursework. I would take photos at each rehearsal, writing about what happened at each crucial part of the show’s creation and slowly discovered that this was something that I wished to continue, and pushed me to want to become a journalist for the theatre.

In this blog, I will write about shows that I have seen, background information I have found, or just discussing the weekly news.
